Rebuilding Confidence Restoring Independence
The MAB Massage Club, under the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB), promotes holistic health and well-being through Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) programmes and community wellness initiatives.
In collaboration with community partners, the club organises TCM programmes offering traditional treatments aimed at promoting relaxation, managing physical discomfort and supporting general well-being.
- Services Offered
TCM Consultation (Konsultasi)
TCM consultations involve an assessment of an individual’s health and well-being based on traditional Chinese medical principles. Practitioners may evaluate symptoms, physical conditions and lifestyle factors to recommend suitable traditional treatments and wellness practices.
Traditional Massage (Urut)
Traditional massage involves hands-on techniques that apply pressure and movement to the body’s muscles and soft tissues. The treatment aims to relieve muscular tension, reduce stiffness, encourage relaxation and improve overall physical comfort.
Acupuncture (Akupunktur)
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese therapeutic technique involving the insertion of fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body. It may help manage certain types of pain, alleviate muscular discomfort and support general well-being.
Cupping Therapy (Bekam)
Cupping therapy is a traditional treatment that uses specialised cups to create suction on the skin. It is commonly used to promote relaxation and relieve muscular tightness and discomfort.
Community Wellness and Fundraising
The MAB Massage Club also organises TCM fundraising programmes in collaboration with community partners, including Persatuan Amal Indah. These initiatives encourage public participation in wellness activities while raising funds to support MAB's programmes and services for persons who are blind and visually impaired.
