Advancing Knowledge Research and Innovation

The Research & Development (R&D) Unit plays an important role in strengthening MAB's work through evidence-based research, innovation and knowledge-sharing initiatives relating to blindness and visual impairment.

The unit conducts research reviews, facilitates academic collaborations and supports the development of accessible technologies, inclusive solutions and research-informed programmes.

Through partnerships with universities, researchers, government agencies, technology developers and other institutions, R&D helps bridge the gap between academic research and the practical needs of the BVI community.

Its work also supports organisational planning, policy advocacy, programme improvement and the identification of emerging challenges and opportunities relating to visual impairment.
